BEST TIME TO VISIT
Although Virgin Goda is warm all year round, it is worth noting that the hurricane season runs from June to November.
Jazz fans may want to visit in the shoulder month of October to make the Virgin Gorda Jazz Festival. This three-day festival features musical performances by international artists, as well as food and drink vendors.
Another popular event is the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, which takes place every April. This four-day event features yacht races, and events within the Regatta to further explore the Caribbean islands.
Activities & Experiences
Exploring the Virgin Gorda by yacht charter gives you the chance to cover all this small island has to offer. Both on land and on the water. We recommend you visit:
The Baths:
A natural phenomenon, the Virgin Gorda Baths are a series of huge boulders that have tumbled down into the aquamarine waters. Swimming and sunbathing are popular activities here, as are snorkelling and exploring the hidden caves and tunnels.
The Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour:
The Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour is a great place to moor up and explore the restaurants, bars and shops that line the harbour. There is also a market selling local arts and crafts. It's the perfect stop after spending a day on the water with your private yacht charter in Virgin Gorda.
Nelson's Dockyard National Park:
This former British naval base is now a well-preserved maritime museum. Located in the capital city of Spanish Town, it is home to several 18th-century buildings, as well as a working dockyard where you can see traditional boatbuilding techniques in action.
Spring Bay:
This sheltered inlet is a beautiful spot for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling. The clear water and coral reefs make it a popular spot for divers, too.
The Copper Mine:
A short hike from the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour will take you to the abandoned copper mine, which was once an important industry on the island. The remains of the buildings and machinery are now covered in lush greenery, making for an interesting and atmospheric visit.
Nova restaurant:
For fine dining with a view, head to Nova restaurant. Located in Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, the restaurant offers panoramic views of the harbour and surrounding islands, as well as an extensive menu of international dishes.
Devil's Bay National Park:
A must-visit for nature lovers, Devil's Bay National Park is home to a white sand beach, sheltered cove and lush vegetation. The hiking trails to Gorda Peak offer the island's most spectacular view, and by the water, the park is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing and snorkelling.
The Caves:
A short swim from the beach at Devi's Bay National Park will take you to the Caves. These sea caves are popular with divers and snorkelers, who come specifically to explore the underwater caverns.
