Laid back opulence on the sunbaked French Riviera
BEST TIME TO VISIT
If you prefer to visit during quieter times we recommend planning your yacht charter in Beaulieu-sur-mer during April to May, or September to October. These shoulder months enjoy milder temperatures around 20°C, but are still agreeable enough for sightseeing, especially on foot.
Activities & Experiences
While onboard your floating home away from home, your friendly and experienced onboard crew will cater to your every need. If and when you decide to explore this small waterfront town filled with grand residences, you’ll have a smorgasbord of options to keep your whole party entertained. Consider these must-do activities:
Villa Kerylos
The former family home of French archeologist Theodore Reinach, Villa Kerylos was designed by architect Emmanuel Pontremoli and built between 1902 and 1908. Built in the Ancient Greek style and perched right atop the sparking Mediterranean Sea, this villa is now a vintage history museum and home to an impressive collection of Reinach’s artefacts. View Greek frescoes, art and furniture while enjoying the view right across to Cap Ferrat.
Walk in Gustave Eiffel's footsteps
Architecture buffs simply must swing by the impressive La Rotonde building on the Beaulieu-sur-mer waterfront. Now an events venue, this iconic yellow structure was designed by none other than Gustave Eiffel. Roughly a decade after the opening of his namesake tower in Paris, Eiffel set up a winter residence in town and went on to design La Rotonde as well as the nearby casino. Admire the Corinthian columns, curved windows and innovative domes this building is known for. Eiffel’s own waterfront villa constructed in 1986 is a must-see for architecture buffs.
Dine like a local
Foodies will luxuriate in the many fresh and creative dining options in Beaulieu-sur-mer. Undoubtedly, La Table de la Reserve must be paid a visit. This magnificent bistro located within the high end La Reserve de Baullieu hotel is famous for fresh Mediterranean fare. Whether you prefer seasonal vegetables deliciously prepared in olive oil, a hot pizette or handmade pasta, there’s something here for everyone. For delectable tapas served on a breezy deck, don’t miss Le Traiteur De Halles. This restaurant is happy to accommodate walk ins, but we recommend a reservation to avoid disappointment.
Plage des Fourmis
Sunseekers will love a stop at Plage des Fourmis, a favourite among locals. Conveniently located with ample yacht access, this beach boasts soft sand, calm conditions safe for all members of the family and warm water during the summer months. With lovely views of the Beaulieu-Sur-Mer township and Villa Kerylos, we recommend getting a sunbed from a nearby beach club for food and drink service right on the sand. With full bathroom facilities and a shady promenade nearby, you could easily while away an entire day enjoying the scenery.
