Yacht Charters Milazzo

Milazzo is located on the northeast coast of Sicily, Italy. It is a popular tourist destination thanks to its beautiful medieval centre, stunning views of the harbour and close proximity to the Aeolian Islands. Today, Milazzo is the main port of departure for those heading to the Aeolian Islands, but in 260BC it was the site of a famous Roman naval victory against the Carthaginians in the First Punic War. Left over from this period is its medieval centre, with a Norman castle overlooking the harbour. This, in addition to its dramatic coastline, sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, make a yacht charter in Milazzo an attractive destination of natural and historic beauty, rich with wonders to meet all sorts of curiosities.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The prime time of year for chartering in Milazzo is during the summer months of July and August. The weather is warm and sunny, with average temperatures reaching around 30°C. As expected, this is the busiest time of year, so booking in advance is essential for both tables at restaurants and your ideal boat charter in Milazzo.

Outside of the peak season, the weather is still pleasant in May, June and September, with average temperatures between 20-25°C. The shoulder seasons are quieter and offer more opportunities for last-minute bookings and better prices on your luxury yacht charter in Milazzo.

During the summer, a variety of annual events make their return, including the Milazzo Jazz Festival in July and the Milazzo Film Festival in August.

Activities & Experiences

On a private yacht charter in Milazzo, there is a wealth of activities to enjoy, both onshore and off. One of the most popular things to do in Milazzo is to take a day trip to one of the seven Aeolian Islands. But there is also plenty to do in the town itself.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Milazzo is Ngonia Bay. This secluded beach is only accessible by boat, making it the perfect destination for your charter in Milazzo, where you can escape the crowds of tourists seeking the summer sun. With its crystal-clear water and soft white sand, Ngonia Bay feels like a piece of paradise, still blissfully untouched. While here, you must visit Ngonia Bay Hotel Restaurant for waterfront dining at its finest. This beachfront hotel is also only accessible by boat, a truly exclusive dining experience.

This medieval Norman castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Milazzo. The view from the top is incredible, stretching over the town and out to sea. The castle is also home to a museum, the Civic Archaeological Museum, with exhibits on the history of Milazzo and the castle itself.

This castle is located in the medieval centre of Milazzo and was built in the 13th century. Today, it is one of the best-preserved castles in Sicily. From the top of the tower, you can enjoy panoramic views of the town and harbour below. The castle is also home to the MuMA: Museo del Mare (Museum of the Sea) an interactive museum designed to "rediscover the harmony between man and sea through science and art".

This is the only vineyard in Italy located right by the sea. The Planeta family has been making wine here for generations, and today their wines are some of the most celebrated in Sicily. Visit for a tour and tasting, or simply enjoy a glass of wine with a view at their on-site restaurant, La Baronia.

Hike through cacti, olive trees and caper bushes along the tip of the cape to the lighthouse for incredible views of the Aeolian Islands. On a clear day, you can even see Mount Etna in the distance.
